A joint IDP site verification exercise was conducted in Baidoa in February 2023. The operation was led by SWSCRI, ACTED, AMARD, CESDO, CWADO, DRC, HINNA, IOM, IRW, Jubba Foundation, MCAN, SCI, READO, Taakulo Somali Community, WVI and UNHCR. 611 IDP sites were identified hosting 107,337 households or 649,465 individuals. Compared to the last site verification conducted in July 2022, there was an increase of 113 IDP sites and 17,861 HH/52,534 individuals.. The increase may be attributed to displacements due to the ongoing drought experienced within Somalia.
