PSEA Focal Point Network - Jordan

  Working Group Description

The PSEA network in Jordan is the primary body for awareness, prevention, coordination, and oversight on protection from sexual exploitation and abuse by international and national personnel of the entities providing humanitarian services to refugees. The Network is NOT responsible for investigation or adjudication of complaints or for dealing directly with complainants. These functions rest exclusively with dedicated bodies of individual entities. The network has four main pillars through which its objective is implemented: engagement with and support to refugees, prevention and response systems, and management and coordination. The Network on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) functions under the auspices of the Refugee Coordinator (UNHCR Representative) in Jordan and reports to him/her. Membership includes normally one Focal Point on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse officially designated by agencies who provide humanitarian aid to refugees within the context of the Syrian Refugee Response. The Network works closely with other coordination bodies, including IATF, ISWG, Protection WG, SGBV SWG, CP SWG, and MHPSS WG. In 2020, the PSEA Network finalized the PSEA Strategy, the PSEA Workplan, and the ToRs for the PSEA focal points and finalized the CBCRM, signed by 40 partners in 2020. In 2021, the PSEA will build the partners’ PSEA capacity, increase training, messaging, and awareness-raising targeting both refugees and Jordanian communities.
