Social Stability Working Group - Lebanon

  Description

The social stability sector complements efforts of other sectors to mitigate tensions resulting from the profound impact of the crisis on local communities, through a comprehensive set of interventions at local and national level, which emphasize institution building to tackle both the expression of conflict and causes of community tensions. The sector capacitates communities and institutions to deal with tensions generated by the crisis so that they are managed peacefully, in a way that is not conducive to collective violence or rights’ abuse. It does so by setting up dialogue fora and committees at the community level to react and manage tensions, by supporting municipalities and other local and national institutions capacity to manage the local pressure generated by the crisis, and by alleviating sources of pressures and tensions through the implementation of targeted community support or basic services projects. This section of the web portal is designed to host the coordination documents of the working group including: - the group's work plan, terms of reference, meeting schedule, meeting agendas and minutes, assessment reports (joint assessments and individual agency assessments).
